Is the Body You Want, the One You Need?
Have you ever wondered, “How can I be healthy and fit, but not necessarily lose weight?” or “How can I lose weight, without looking so pale or seem older?”
I’ve always believed that healthy living is not meant to be painful; it should be pleasurable enough for people to enjoy the experience. So, what have we been doing all our lives?
We’ve been eating the wrong foods or depriving ourselves of the right ones. We eat less and drain our bodies’ resources to be fit, yet sometimes (due to overexertion) we find ourselves so low on oxygen we feel practically dead.
Alternatively, we feel miserable because we are judged by society as unwanted people: we are labeled as “fat”. Judged by size instead of taking the time to learn about each other. This is so sad. We all deserve better. Even those who are not overweight may suffer from low energy levels and feel drained in the morning. They aren’t much better off.
So, is weight really the issue here, or is it your life that matters the most? Your health? Your happiness? Your tranquility? Think of how your choices might affect you and the ones important to you. Don’t push yourself too hard or put yourself down. You certainly deserve the best of the best. Why you ask?! Because we’ve been created in the best form.
Pumped up? Excited enough? Awesome!
Now, here is a question for you: Do you want to be full of energy, and live healthfully, while getting the excess fat out of your system as a bonus? These tips from #TonyRobbins will help.
Your body needs and deserves:
Oxygen —-> through a deep breathing exercise called “The Power of Breath”. It helps your lymphatic system clean out those bad toxins from your body (for example: inhale for 7 seconds, hold your breath for 28 seconds, exhale for 14 seconds; repeat 10 times). Do it when you first wake up, before lunch, and before dinner. You will notice a huge difference in your energy level, your sense of clarity, and your ability to ward off sickness. #BreatheSMART.
Water —-> through drinking fluids and eating fresh fruits and vegetables. At least 70% of your diet should have some water content. Besides, it’s preferable to drink your fluids 15-20 minutes before or after eating. #DrinkSMART.
Nourishment —-> through proper food combining to digest your food correctly and to get the most out of what you eat. Eat one concentrated food at a time. Don’t combine protein with carbs, or fruits with other foods. Eat fruits on an empty stomach. The food you eat is either assimilated or eliminated. So, whenever you eat, ask yourself: is this going to clog me, or cleanse me? #EatSMART
Movement —-> Through your body. Whatever you don’t use, you lose. Muscles are essential to your body. Your body structure needs support. Yet, don’t over-exercise and damage your body or decrease your oxygen intake. Your cells need oxygen for both of you; to stay in shape. It’s not worth being fit but dead. So, here is a tip: Do a 12-minute work up, exercise for 20-40 minutes, then a 12-minute work down. Continuously check your heart rate. #MoveSMART.
The choice is yours.
You choose what you want to do with your body. Make it a plan that makes sense to you, a plan you can enjoy doing. And if plan A didn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters to go.
And whatever you decide to do or decide to change, take the time to celebrate each of your wins. Celebrations recognize your achievements.
Don’t forget: a healthy body doesn’t necessarily mean a thinner one. If you want to be healthy, live healthily, and everything else will fall in place.
Enjoy your life, be healthy, be SMART.
