“Mother, Father … Thank You!”

The faith, love, creativity, and empowerment my parents provided to me helped shape who I am today, and I wish to offer my profound gratitude in return. My father was a warm, friendly man who cherished others. He made it a priority to stay in contact with family and ensured that everyone felt loved. A creative soul with many ideas, he dreamt of building a school, which he planned to name the Sunshine School. My desire to educate and collaborate stemmed from my father’s own life experiences.

My mother is a principled, hard-working woman. As a pharmacist who is both wise and dependable, she does not compromise her values or the high-performance standards she sets for herself. My mother instilled a strong work ethic in me when I was very young. She taught me that a woman can and should work anywhere and that I should always work hard and strive to make a difference in the world.

My parents, born and raised in different countries, taught me to embrace diversity in people and cultures. I have been blessed and inspired to be brought up raised by these two extraordinary people, and I endeavor to make them proud every day.
